Ghost Tabs

Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 11, 2026

Ghost Tabs is built to help you close tabs without losing context. This extension stores your browsing context locally so you can restore it later. We do not run servers, and we do not collect or sell personal data.

Information We Store

When you close a tab, Ghost Tabs saves only the context needed to restore it:

  • URL, page title, and favicon
  • Timestamp and scroll position
  • Highlights you selected and snippets you copied

How We Use It

The stored context is used only to let you search and restore closed tabs. Closing a tab is the save action, and restoration is a single click.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. We do not transmit your data to any external servers and do not use analytics or tracking.

Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to third parties.

Your Choices

You can delete saved items at any time within the extension. You can also uninstall the extension to remove all stored data.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will revise the effective date on this page.
